The third album from if is their first concept album.

The album is about an inside trip during the dream to find the "Stairway to happines". There are great compositions in the album, like the opener "Close your eyes", a fantastic lulluby that introduces the concept, the concrete music piece "Uneasy sleep Part 2", the epic "queenish" "Like a bird" and the power ballad "It's just me". The level of the album is not excellent all over, but maybe the problem is a production not good as the songs deserved. Especially annoying is the sound of the drum machine (the band had not a drummer until 2008) not properly programmed and that gets a "colder" feeling all over...

Anyway "The Stairway" shows an interesting band with lot potential, but a not completely shaped sound. 3,5 stars... but it's almost Christmas time and we can round up to 4!
