THE BEATLES '1'

I think this compilation is essential for any Beatles fan, but it is by no means definitive. This album shows the hit-single side of the Beatles, and many of the songs are phenomenal, but it doesn't break into their creative and progressive side as on Sgt. Pepper and the White Album. That being said, it's still definitely worth picking up. Even as the songs progress chronologically, it's easy to see how the Beatles went from a British pop band to incredible innovators and musicians. Again, this is a wonderful compilation, but don't think that this is all the Beatles are capable of.
