4 stars For me Dune has a somewhat dual personality. It consists of two sidelong, distinctive pieces. While the title track is a 30-minute-long instrumental suite with basically no rhythm or melody, the second one is a long rhytmic, hypnotic vocal track with Arthur Brown as the vocalist. As for side A the piece has a lot of ambient sounds and textures by Mr Schulze and Wolfgang Tiepold on the cello. Think of something like Vangelis' Beaubourg album, but with more complex soundscapes. B side is a bit like Schulze's first Wahnfried album, Time Actor, but with more feeling to it.
