4 stars I love Arena because of the way the paint music. They have a palette of colours that really triggers my imagination, all their previous music - up to Contagion that is - has worked the same way to me. Contagion (with EP's) changed my way of reacting with Arena's music, the lyrics was more direct, not so easy to create your own images to. Pepper's Ghost is even more direct than the previous release, with the power moved from keyboards to guitar. The first time I heard Bedlam Fayre I couldn't help thinking of Threshold. Since they are moving their music in the opposite direction it's not that strange when you think about it. Pepper's Ghost have several great tracks with Opera Fanatica being an obvious favourite, but I also hold Tantalus as one of the best of this album. It contains some of the old magic found , for example, on The Visitor. It is still a "top of the range" release, from a band in progression...
