5 stars This is the most recent prog album I had heard since signing up, so I think it's only appropriate to review this one first. The album is a live rendition of their third Italian-language album, L'Isola, which is very close in quality to their legendary first two albums, though not QUITE there. In this live rendition, there seems to be less of the symphonic behavior that made the album so good, but the album gradually gets better with more and more otherworldly magic coming out. In other words, it captures 95% of the raw magic of the studio album while still having a bit of its own identity. In fact, I noticed that the live variant of Via lumiere was much jazzier than before, so there's a slight edge in the second half.

While the studio variant was more consistent in quality, this album got better as it went along. So this live piece is only very, very slightly worse than the original studio variant. Both are brilliant.
