3 stars 3.7 stars. This is one of those albums where you feel like you've only listened to a few songs even though the album is (almost) 1 hour long. That can a be a good thing or a bad thing, in this case, I thinks it's leaning more towards the bad. Although this album have some standout tracks like Stockholm Syndrome and Butterflies and Hurricanes, the rest of the album just feels kind of the same (not saying they are bad though) with repetitive feel, common chord progressions and the overused lyrical theme (apocalypse). Most of the lyrics are somewhat cheesy (Time Is Running Out, Sing For Absolution, Endlessly?), but there are songs that have intriguing lyrical themes like Fury (About praying for your sins but knowing there's no god therefore making it an excuse) and Thoughts Of An Dying Atheist (About? thoughts of an dying atheist), where he sees nothing beyond death, and that scares the "hell" out of him. And about the musical feel, it feels like mixing Radiohead with Queen added with alternative rock (for example, Butterflies sounds straight out of Amnesiac or Ok Computer and Apocalypse sounds exactly like the intro of March Of The Black Queen) , and I guess that's their specialty? But in the end this was still an above decent listen, I just feel like they could be more unique and interesting.
