4 stars Constellations is the new solo album by Antony Kalugin since Chameleon Shapeshifter. As the title suggests Antony has given us the theme of constellations or the certain pattern of the stars we see in the dark of night. With tracks name 'Orion', 'Cetus' and 'Centaurus', Antony takes the listener on a musical journey through the stars.

The album is solely created by himself with the aid of his regular guitarist Max Velychko and vocals presented by Olha Rostovska. Antony proves again his versatility and strength in composing and playing. Using the tools of his keyboards and recording abilities we have been given another gift of high class and stirring music.

This is more an electronic affair - with the help of his studio knowledge Antony has created a mood of space and mystery. We are treated to twelve new tracks all with a space rock fluency. Many synth sounds are used mixed with Max's guitar work. This intertwining transports us to a realm of eloquence and a myriad of wonder. Max has music oozing out of his fingers when he touches those guitar strings. Correlating with Antony's many echoing sounds, the travel through the galaxy enters our ears. Antony and Max act like our arms both different limbs but of the same body.

Being the star sign of Virgo myself, I was looking forward to hearing the track 'Virgo' and what I received was an eclectic tune with many turns?amazing for a track that sits just under four minutes. 'Aquarius' could be my favourite piece on the album with delicate guitar work or 'ghost' touches filling the sound with subtlety. Nearing the end the music, the tone and pace increase and Antony pounds the keys bringing a powerful and dramatic feel that evokes a real depth. 'Cetus' has a minor industrial beat and basic melody that builds with added elements. Finishing with God like vocals, the element of space is in no question. The cover of the album is spectacular and matches the mood and feel of the music exactly.

What does this album bring? I think it brings the fundamental reason of why music exists. To take us to places within our minds and hearts. This is mind expanding, it relaxes and elates you at the same time. It brings that sense of lying down outside in the middle of night looking up at the stars in wonderment and curiosity. Listen and lose yourself but always make sure you come back for Antony's next instalment.
