![]() Gotic is an example of lush and instrumental yet accessible progressive rock. If you want to call it rock, though because there is no trace of electric guitar. Focus is given to keyboard textures and plenty of flute so you can warm up when listening. Subtle jazzy leanings can be detected on the keyboardist side and these would get more profound on their second album. Then we could say to hear some folk influences (flute). Some prog-rock purists will not be pleased by its lightweight tone and not enough complexity but as you progress towards the second half of the album, music gets more focused and complex as the compositions get longer. The highlight to me are the two last tracks with a good melody and clear motives. In addition, the last track offers a surprising piece of dynamics not heard before. An original piece of Spanish prog though I wouldn't it call it one of a kind. 3.5 stars
