At just 37 minutes, 4 is tight and focused, avoiding the excesses that can sometimes weigh down progressive music. Tracks like "Stellate" bring a heavier, guitar-driven sound, while "Chroma" delivers jazzy saxophone solos. "Totem" closes the album with a dreamy, spacey vibe, offering a peaceful resolution to the experience.

The balance between different musical worlds?rock, jazz, and psychedelia?is tastefully executed, though at times the album feels a little disparate, with some musical ideas not fully integrated.
