THE MORE YOU KNOW

Listening to The More You Know for the first time I was pleasantly surprised...first because the cover art didn't anticipate me too much, and then came the music. If the end of the world were to come, I am clear that Progressive Rock and Jazz Rock define me, but since I listen to everything - and I assume that the readers of the site do too - I do not limit myself to the framework of the genre, and neither does Anderson, let's not forget how jazzy he was at the beginning of Yes. Someone in another review compared him to Sting...and at times it also seemed the same to me, but he has his mark, both musically and lyrically. The electronic and techno bases, along with the soul and ethnic nuances that his music has always had, are present, but also a certain playfulness, a certain freshness that is sometimes forgotten because of so much repetition in previous albums. I was surprised to hear him sing with more force than on previous albums, and without much more mathematical analysis...I simply let myself go and it made me feel good, which is actually the essence of Jon since his first recordings.
