4 stars The song "Flecha" was in the soundtrack of the soup opera "What King am I?", from 1989. This audiovisual work was exhibited on the second largest comercial TV network, called Rede Globo. Even though Sagrado Coração da Terra wasn't on the radios, it was possible for them to conquer that position because of Marcus Viana's tireless work of promotion and disclosure. After that, he began a very succesful solo career. Specially with the soundtracks for soup operas on Globo TV, and for movies. He is, according to Marcus Viana's site, the brazilian independente musician with the biggest amount of CDs released on national territory. 75 titles. He created a distributor of independent music, "Sonhos e Sons", with a wide catalogue, not only on progressive rock.

The album "Flecha" has a bunch of tunes that were used, even rearranjed sometimes, on other works of Marcus Viana. So, this work essential to capture its extention beyond that soup opera and that year.

Another crucial element to understand this work are the lyrics. At least, for those who understand portuguese. I'll translate part of the first track.

"[...] run, as if the time could stop They don't know that life is na arrow at the speed of light That on the moves off ire waves Love conducts us [...] Soft as the light of dawn The Golden light of Passions Welcome to Earth, fire of love".

The other songs of side A follow almost all of them some musical structures close to pop, MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), new age, and soft prog rock. They're also quite radio-friendly. But the lyrics are more challenging, to the listener, than most of MPB material.

On "Manhã dos 33", there's an allegory about the walking of humanity, and an obvious reference to Cristo's death.

"Father which is a strong guide

The son navigates soft the river of gold from life And in his Love carries on all living beings and things [...] The truth will outcome from love

Human beings sing Human beings together Human beings love Human beings relearning the lesson"

Side B is totally different, goes deep on prog rock. IMO, it has ones of the greatest symphonic prog compsitions of SCT.

Musicality of side A: 3,3 stars. Musicality of side B: 4.2. Lyrics of the album: 4.1. Historical importance for progressive rock in Brazil: 5 stars.

Final result: 4 stars.
