CRIME OF THE CENTURY

This was the record where it all came together for Supertramp. The Davies / Hodgson writting team is in full flight and the fact that even today many of these songs receive a lot of radio airplay is a testemony to that. This band's music requires attention because beneath the pop melodies the arrangements are complex, and at their best the music is simple but not simplistic. This means that this music may seam easy but it is very deceptive. It is a shame that Davies and Hodgson don't get along because this record proves that they were a sublime writting team. An excelent record by all counts and defenetely one of the best pop-prog records of all times.
