3 stars Jon Anderson of Yes combined with one of the great Prog guitarists and composers, MIke Oldfield. 1. "Shine"- very 80ish, which makes sense as this is from 1986. A very poppy tune with pretty lame lyrics. This does have a redeeming Mike Oldfield guitar solo in the middle that almost saves this tune. The whole atmosphere here reminds me somewhat of the FIVE MILES OUT period from Mike Oldfield. Possibly a deleted song from that disc. 2. "The Path"- this is an Oldfield acoustic guitar number. Very mellow and new age-like. Nothing exciting and not bad. Overall, I can merit these a 2 star for the first and 3 for the second. I'll be generous and average up to 3 stars. Oldfield fans should like this- maybe available elsewhere on a box set? Not sure, but I know "The Path" is on one of the ELEMENTS sets.
