3 stars As the story goes, written and recorded in the early 80's and only released now. BunChakeze's album sounds quite up to date, but it still sounds like a cobled-together affair. There are moments that suggest greatness, but other moments that suggest the opposite. Certainly it's a good starting point for a band that was lost for almost 20 years. There are sections which hint at more modern progressive/symphonic rock and then there's the straight Pink Floyd comparisons and that glassy rhythm guitar sound from the 80's ala The Cure/Police. there's talented guitar playing, but no it's not David Gilmour. Some drumming top notch, some a bit pedestrian. Good vocals but not fully realised. Clearly this was recorded in a few steps and some of it sounds a bit like a demo tape rather than a fully fledged and focussed recording. Worth a listen and who knows, the 20 years spent away might results in something really great if they get a chance.
