DON'T KILL THE WHALE

I believe Yes's TORMATO to be a 1/2 and 1/2 album with some great tunes as is showcased here with "Don't Kill the Whale" and "Release, Release", but mixed with some real duds like "Arriving UFO", and "Circus of Heaven". Both album cuts are fine (I have always loved "Don't Kill the Whale") here but it is for the Steve Howe number "Abalene", that makes this more than just a single collection. I think this is now available on one of the box Yes sets, though. Like most singles, this is mainly for collectors and those looking to have anything put out by Yes. A few number from an average Yes album. The cover here is not much better than the ugly Tormato cover, though. 2 stars
