3 stars One of my least played Zappa records only because it has dated so much (as has We're Only In It For The Money) it sounds like 1967 but doesn't have the historical significance of WOIIFTM. However there are some of Zappa's classics on here - Invocation and Ritual Dance of the Young Pumpkin is an early masterpiece, with an obvious quote from Stravinsky starting it off and evolving into a hard rock/jazz stormer; if the rest of the album was like this I'd give it 5 stars but there are to many dated comments about American society which are now too obvious even to mention. The weaknesses aren't in the music but in the lyrics, not an uncommon occurance in the Zappa catalogue! still it is well worth a listen; Brown shoes don't make it is a Zappa classic and America drinks (& goes home) is hilarous!
