5 stars Review #121!

Tangerine Dream's 'Force Majeure' is definitely one of their best. Groovy, fun, and far more structured than other TG works, it is also one of their most accessible. The epic on side one has some absolutely perfect keyboard grooves, drum bangs, bass licks, and guitar riffs. I like to compare this composition to Kraftwerk's 'Autobahn' track. Has its ambient moments, but is mainly just a collection of groovy keyboard beats and so forth. Though I must admit, I prefer Kraftwerk's epic more. The guitar and bass Edgar Froese plays here are delicious. I love every second they are present. 'Cloudburst Flight' has some amazing acoustic guitar in it, giving the song an organic feel that many Tangerine Dream songs do not have. Takes me back to 'Alpha Centauri'. Perfection in a synthetic nutshell. 'Thru Metamorphic Rocks' is an ever- building keyboard extravaganza that rises and descends with mesmerizing guitar solos and great drums. There are many ambient sections, but the song never forgets rhythm and structure. A great end to a great album from a great band in a great genre in the wide umbrella term we call music.
