4 stars The First Half to Fire garden (the instrumental half) is Steve Vai at his very best. It is full of Fantastic Progressive songs nun more than the Title track Fire Garden Suite. If the album had ended here I would give it a well deserved 5 stars. However, this is not the case. Unfortunately Mr Vai has an annoying habit of singing on the second half. At times the vocals are amusing such as "When I was a Little Boy" but other times it is enough to turn off the record. It is hard to call this latter half Prog which is exemplified by the time lengths which range from 4:06 to 5:05 in the last 7 songs (excluding When I was a Little Boy). In the better half of this album the songs range from 0:37 to 9:56.

In all 4 stars because the first half is superb and i can turn off the album half way
