3 stars Something about this album caught my eye. I'm a big fan of early Bowie, and knew that he was too talented to simply stop making progressive music after his magnum opus, ZSATSFM. After listening to the first few songs of this album, I thought I might be wrong. The first few songs sound like one would expect from David Bowie. Not essential, nor very good. But I stuck it out and luckily, the song Sound And Vision came through the speakers and I proceeded. After this the album seems to take a new direction into the more proggy realms. The synthesizers begin to complement the music, rather than simply add another layer of noise. From then on, Bowie is back to his old self, grabbing your attention and bobbing your head to his beat. The Brian Eno piece gives this album a reason to buy it, if you haven't done so already.
