![]() Six songs. One eponymic, side-spanning prog epic split into seven movements, followed by five classic rock tracks. The dramatic, powerful, jaw-dropping title suite '2112' followed by a song about a group of stoners traveling the world for the best weed: 'A Passage to Bangkok' ? who has the nerve?! It makes me lightly chuckle to think about it. But not to underrate the other five songs. 'The Twilight Zone' is a somewhat dark song that reminds us what nerds Rush were (it doesn't feel surprising to find that the band were 'The Twilight Zone' fans), while also showcasing Geddy Lee's amazing vocals. 'Lessons' is a sweet song about enjoying life and living it to the fullest. 'Tears' and 'Something for Nothing' are both relatively sad songs, with the latter being less so, and are strong tracks on a strong album. To conclude, '2112' is truly at Rush's best. It is impressive to achieve something like this so early in your career. And there's only more great Rush albums beyond.
