ACQUIRING THE TASTE

GENTLE GIANT was one of the most important rock prog band in the 70's.With this second album the band is more experimental and dissonant but always elegant and melodic in some tunes. It was time for some new experiments, the second phase of sensory pleasure.The best tracks are in my opinion "pantagruel's nativity",edge of twilight,The intense ballad "the moon is down".But the whole lp is unique without frontiers,with all the band's trademarks: medieval vocals,rock,jazz.this is new contemporary prog with its complex structures and inventive arrangements.All the songs are full of strength,but also extreme and equilibrated. Acquiring is a new progressive rock level,a sort of little fascinating challenge..MUSIC FOR HEART AND MIND.....
