3 stars George Duke's acoustic and electric piano dominate this album like nowhere else. His electric piano is sophisticated but retains warm charm. Duke tries multiple jazz directions here, from eerie electric piano atmospheric tracks ("Some time ago"), conventional jazz tinged with fusion ("Solus"), soul jazz trips ("Au right"), slight Latin attempts ("Love reborn"), Duke succeeds with varying results. When listening to the album, you have the feeling that it could have all recorded in one session, all sounding live, natural and uncomplicated. The music is improvisational, little developed, which is great to a background music but won't catch your interest for the entire 88 minutes. Listen to it if you focus on instrumental music with great keyboard chops.
