SYMPHONIC

No reviews on this one, what is quite surprising. Certainly it was a night of magic. In my brief research seems that most of their exhibitions were in its own country; maybe all of them were. So, listen/hear to an East show would be something new to many people.

The title, East Symphonic, is absolutely precise, because it's not East plus a symphonic orchestra. They changed the arrangements of the majority of the songs, in order to give space to the orchestra on the basic structure of many tracks. The orchestral executions are pompous but not to much inside classical music as the only influence, because you can hear plenty of rock or jazz rythyms. This proposition works nice and clean for their most admired songs from the prog rock audience (the two first albums, Játékok and Hüség). But it works particularly great on the compositions from the lest refined albums. Some passages present a superb interplay from the classical percussions with the drums. The two back-singers are moderate but make a good combination with the instrumental parts. All of this intrincate, complex and new musicality is performed with an astonishing coordination. I truly enjoy hungarian as a language for prog rock vocalists; but this is the weak side of this show. The two vocalists, that I suppose are original members of the band, specially the first that appears, looses and swallows some notes. And the first vocalist falls in a squeaky voice many times. If this feature was better, I'd give this DVD a 4,9.
