This collection of short instrumentals is OLDFIELD's leanest album in years. It's the least complex or flashy output from him I've heard in a while. There are no lightning-fast guitar runs or brain-jarring time changes. Think of it as "Mike Oldfield, Simplified." There are some great melodies floating around, and it's great in headphones. While it has the unfortunate task of being compared Mike's own work, the album is quite good - just different from any Oldfield album I've heard before. This is a good addition to you collection, but if you haven't acquired discs like "Amarok," "Hergest Ridge" or "Islands," start there.
