2 stars I just bought it on cd, to replace the old lp, and the album is better as I thought. I really like the funk of Stingray (Get up with that), well done with that section of horns. Only an expansive joke. Some recordings were done in the U.S.A. ( also the mix), and for the strings and flutes they went to London. Basic tracks were recorded in Holland, with the exception of She's so devine; which was done in the States. What a lovely song that last one. No serious; I never hated it and that's the same for Funk Me. This is the one is in my opinion more jazz-rock instead of funk, and that's the same for Nightprayer/ Time out of mind. There's nothing wrong with these tracks. In fact I like "3" more as Aranjuez; I'm getting sleepy with that one. I paid for his records, so it's my good right to "burn 'em down" if they fail to amuse me. There's a re-recording of Stingray on the Blues hearts album, underneath the name No Gossip. There's not much spectacular guitarwork on the album 3, Sounds he's part of a band, just like on the "live" record from Montreux '78. 2 stars for 3. It's for me no longer an underrated album, but it isn't something to recommend.
