3 stars Okay- Everybody else has had their shot at Starcastle, now it's my turn. Although, I probably don't really have too many deep insights to give that haven't been given by others. Does it sound like Yes? Yes. Is it as good as Yes? Nope. Is it better than 90210 and Talk? Yep. It is hard to listen to this without constantly trying to compare Starcastle to Yes. They are not, by far, the classic and amazing group of musicians that Yes was, but they are not really that bad. Many tunes here such as "Lady of the Lake", could be considered excellent symphonic prog. I think one way I choose to describe their music is "lightweight Yes". Yes-lite? In some ways, the solo music of Jon Anderson is a close comparison. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes annoying. If this was a real Yes album I would even give it more stars than Talk or Big Generator! SO, because it is not, I am able to give it to a 3. Good, not great. Competent, but not terrific. I listen to this every now and then, but not often. Why, when I have Relayer? 3 stars.
