5 stars I've been delighted to hear how well this recording has stood up over time. I thought it was a masterpiece when it was released, and I still regard it as essential listening. I generally prefer Holdsworth playing other people's music, and this is some of the best. This is early rock-fusion with a sense of a artistry and purpose that reaches beyond the flashy technical virtuosity that tended to overshadow everything else in that genre. Well-composed without being fussy. And its echoes are still heard today -- in Planet X, for example.

A re-mixed re-release is overdue.
