GRAVE NEW WORLD

As far as I am concerned, this is the "perfect" Strawbs album. 1972 was a good year for prog! And prog-folk as well! This is a concept album that works. Great short soft parts such as "Hey Little Man", and "Ah Me, Ah My" work great alongside such classics as "Benedictus", "Heavy Disguise" which is my personal all-time favorite Strawbs tune, and "New World". There is no single weak part on this Strawbs effort, which I have found to be the case on everything else I have heard by them. Surely this deserves it's many 4 and 5 star ratings! I give it a 5 stars, the only one for me in the Strawbs diverse and long catalog. A few others come close, but this hits it dead on.
