MONOLITH

On the day this album was first released, I bought it, listened to it a few times, and filed it away. Now, after all these years, I've finally listened to it again. Maybe my tastes have changed, maybe I'm just comparing it to Kansas' later releases, but this album isn't as bad as I remember it. While it is nowhere near as good as any of the preceding albums, it is better than any of the studio albums to follow. There are no absolute mind blowing prog moments, but there are enough technically interesting sections to make this worth picking out of a cutout bin, if you can still find it after all of these years.
