NURSERY CRYME

Genesis delivers another gem in its classic prog period with this album. The Genesis signature is everywhere with the inclusion of Collins and Hackett. It's a bit raw and all of the place, but this is what I like about it. It's part of the charm.

The Musical Box - great introduction of this album and Genesis shows they are top of the game 9/10

For Absent Friends - A nice little piece of quiet before the storm. 8/10

The Return of the Giant Hogweed -A humorous proggy piece. It's not the best Genesis piece I ever heard, but it surely is an enjoyable listen. 8.5/10

Seven Stones - A typical Genesis song with its hooks and angles. And a great mellotron ending. 8/10

Harold the Barrel - I love this black humour. The composition is strong too. And to top it off the great Gabriel, Collins duet. 8.5/10

Harlequin - Pretty, but a clear low point of the album for me. 7/10

The Fountain of Salmacis - Great mellotron heavy track, great rhythm section and a great story. One of the highlights of the album. 9/10

This album has no highlights, but the highlights aren't as high as their later work. Still, it is a great album and I give it 4 stars.
