3 stars I've been listening to this one for a few years now, so I think I can make this judgement: This album contains some really wonderful, mind-blowing music. It is also deeply flawed. The band needs to learn to edit itself. It seems that just about every idea gets thrown in there whether it is good or not. This is true of almost all of their albums, but it's particularly out of control on this one. The hour-long "Garden of Dreams" is almost all good stuff! The "Peace is the Word section is fantastic. but then they tack on those pointless 55 second and 5 second (songs?!) onto the end to fill the disc up. The fact that they have titles and composition credits doesn't make them work. Disc 2 is almost all throwaway with a few exceptions, particularly the first song "Deaf Numb and Blind", which may be worth the price of the whole package. I really love this band, I just wish they would focus a little harder. Most albums are inconsistent, with brilliant music interspersed with a lot of dubious ideas. It seemed like they had a preconceived plan to produce a sprawling double disc, Roine brought some great compositions to the table, and then they just filled up the rest of the discs with whatever.
