5 stars The nucleus of Glass Hammer, Steve Babb and Fred Schendel, do it again with Shadowlands. The songs are fantastic, especially "So Close, So Far" and "Behind the Great Beyond." And the 'treatment' Glass Hammer gives to Dan Fogelberg's "Longer" is nothing less than astounding, and definitely in the same vein as the treatment Yes provided Paul Simon's "America" (e.g., while neither GH nor Yes wrote the Longer or America, their individual treatments make those songs every bit as much theirs as the original artists.). If you're a fan of symphonic progressive rock, you owe it to yourself to listen to Glass Hammer's Shadowlands. An impeccable work of art that should be in every prog lover's collection.
