5 stars Bastian Per is the project of Sebastian Prosperi, guitarist and handyman, fan of the Dream Theater to the point of inviting Derek Sherinian on one of the tracks. Global issues as a backdrop and a questioning of our future go reread 'Eccesiastes 8:14', the cover's implicit message gives you a glimpse of their message; this concept connects tracks giving a strong flavor to progressive metal music.

'' A Better World '' soft, sets the scene, undoubtedly Labrie vocals and '' Overture '' on a superb ... instrumental opening with drums, synth and guitar solo, Dream Theater has that behave well; the composition is grandiloquent, progressive. '' Defeat Device '' on a nervous tune, back Deep Purple for the organ, Rush for the rhythm, farmer final and '' The Lonely Shepherd '' follows by a two-part title, ballad then mounted on a heavier sound , instrumental break; crackling fire and 'Through the Fires' on a warm synth, air that takes off with heavy riff; the AOR guitar solo, a very present heavy metal guitar tune. '' Seize the Day '' for the piano interlude, the romantic ballad backing vocals, voice-over and solo that kills, in short, a musical island. "Deadly Virus" virus in the air; soft phrasing in Labrie but we have the voice of Mariano, interesting title. "The Mystery Behind" occurs with a Jethro Tull riff denoting then it goes off to a licky tune, half voice, half orchestral overhead. "The Safe Place" for the piano-voice variation which rises between the ballad and the bewitching slow until the final voices; "Greatness Delirium" comes pure moment of Sherinian keyboard seconded in a second step by Sebastian; followed by Way 'Way Back Home' epic melting pot, rhythm, solos, Floyds 'oy The Trial' vocals, notes to Damian Wilson, Hammond resolo, bombastic. "Divine Device" ends this opus by driving the nail on the markers of the dream theater.

Bastian Per has launched a musical pavement with varied tracks, organ of time, complex orchestration filled with delicious harmonies and catchy choruses, offering a rich and fruity musical palette; an album which does not offer any metal-progressive novelty but which plays it very well, to jump on to realize their absolute mastery in this genre.
