3 stars Coryell plays completely unaccompanied on this solo with thoughtful music composed by Stravinsky. It starts neatly with a subdued guitar and reflective playing, then it gets more dynamic with Coryell strumming and playing melody. What appears initially to be a classical piece of music changes even to a rocking pattern and a bit more experimental guitar layer so Coryell is providing his own stamp. By all means, Coryell playing is exquisite. The second track is even longer, clocking at almost 19 minutes. Therein lies the biggest challenge of this record. Every two minutes, playing changes quite significantly so it's difficult not to get lost in the flow and remember something. In a way, several sections sound like a pure improvisation and not part of the menu. Recommended only to hardcore acoustic guitar fans. 2,5 stars
