![]() Track 1 I don't like very much, it isn't bad but it isn't excellent. The heavily processed vocals are a tad to much for me, I wish this one was just an instrumental with more crazy saxophone parts. Track 2 sets the pace for what the album actually sounds like. Beautiful music of either chill or dramatic nature. The vocals here are just sublime, Greg Lake delivers a powerful laid back melody that works so well with the percussion and flute. Track 3 ups the ante from ballad to pomp. Lovely melody, good bridges good stuff all around keeps up the excellent energy of track 2. Track 4 is another pretty ballad at first that divulges into a tastefully done instrumental section. Instrumental for the next ten minutes it's a great addition to the album that really sets the album apart from others. It displays King Crimsons proclivity towards instrumental workouts of their own sound. More ambient then later experiments like Larks Tongue In Aspic or The Power To Believe, it works well by being nestled in a great spot. Good stuff, keeps the album from going stale and really gives this song/album an identity. Track 5, like four is a more theatrical song, powerful mellotron and vocals. This one is lovely, transports me to a world of mythical beauty. Overall this is an excellent debut. After the first song I usually skip there are no further hiccups, great stuff.
