4 stars Wow, they are setting off real fireworks here. The TWANGMEN are coming from the Vorarlberg region in Austria. Some of them have played together in various formations before. Hence the involved five musicians are knowing each other quite well. And so it's not surprising actually that the crew's chemistry is rather solid. You can sense it for sure. The album production originally was initiated by a trio around drummer Flow Frick plus Daniel Seeger (bass) and Martin Mayer (guitar). But sometime in between the idea came up to add some keyboards (Gunnar Giesinger), and a cello (Fabian Jäger) to the fold. Good move, I'd say! The musical essence finally is made of an unique heavy prog oriented attitude, garnered with some psych respectively post rock.

Exemplarily seen I do like the charming behaviour of Indian Summer. The compelling Autowahn is consisting of little post rock flair. The extended centerpiece Escape From Island then shows a really tricky flow, very nice and diversified guitar and keyboard, Mellotron and synthesizer input. Particularly the cello is contributing a melancholic flair in between. Wild Animal Ride evolves exactly as the title promises. Available as double vinyl or digital download 'Triskele And Cascades' is offering an inspired music excursion of roundabout 70 minutes playing time. Sophisticated compositions that guarantee great entertainment. A recommended affair. Hopefully the TWANGMEN soon will gain some more interest regarding the worldwide progressive rock community.
