5 stars Neal Morse is a great songwriter. You need look no further than this disc for proof. The first impression of this disc is the mellow "Land of Beginning Again", which sets the story for the rest of the disc, followed by the symphonic "Overture #1", which introduces the musical themes of the disc. On my first listen, these two tracks immerse the listener in the story, and make you want to hear more. And there is so much to hear! Strings, vocal harmonies, keyboards, drums - all have their place in this piece, all are at the top of their game.

A review of this album should address the lyrics, which are of course religious in nature. That may put off some people. However, the fact that the story is personal take the lyrics from being preachy (which they never are). Neal doesn't try to persuade you into being Christian, he merely explains passionately why he is.

This disc was probably made as a celebration of Neal's faith. But the end result is a celebration of music!
