CONQUER THE WORLD PT. 2 & 3

This is the sound of a band finding its way. There are some proggy things to it, but a lot of it still has the mainstream sound that was popular at this time. Disturbed, System of a Down, and even (gasp!) Nickelback fans might like this, as well as those into heavier prog. When the proggier songs kick in, I started to enjoy the album more, but I was a bit turned off by some of the lyrics. I guess when the songs are angry, the lyrics should be angry, and profanity goes with that.

It seems odd to me that the last two songs - "Pizzi" and "Out of Heart" are really the same song, just done a bit differently in terms of instrumentation and interpretation. Neither is a prog interpretation.

We do have our proggier showings here too - you may want to skip directly to "Make a Mess" (if you can stand the F- word multiple times in a song), or "In Vain/Carmine" and "Unfold Your Mind" for the more epic tracks. All in all, though, this is probably one you could live without. 2 stars.
