2 stars This single is mostly interesting for the fans of The Doors who want to have everything the band released officially while they existed as a band.

Both songs of this single showed the band trying to sound commercial in Pop music terms.

"Get Up and Dance" (composed by Manzarek / Krieger) is a danceable Pop song which also includes a female trio called "The Other Voices" in the album gatefold cover singing backing vocals (a first on a Doors`s song, if I remember well now), with lead vocals by Manzarek.

"Treetrunk" is the most rare and maybe the most sought-after song from their officially recorded catalogue for The Doors`most dedicated fans and collectors. This song (composed by Krieger and sung by Manzarek) only appeared in the B-side of this single and it wasn`t released again in any compilation album from The Doors. I tried to find in the web a MP3 file from this song. I never found it...but more or less one year ago I found a video-audio recording (that is, the video showed the single being played on a turntable, with not very good sound) of this song in youtube (maybe someone interested could still find it in youtube now). Finally, I could listen to this very "rare" song for several times....but I wasn`t very impressed. The song is a very Pop song, not bad, but also not very interesting, and maybe for this reason it was destined for a B-side and nothing else.

Official copies of this rare single still sometimes appear for buying on the web in the ebay websites.

Update (31-December-2015): "Treetrunk" has finally been included as a bonus track in the remastered "Other Voices / Full Circle" 2 CD set compilation which was released in 4-September-2015 by Rhino / Elektra/ Doors Music Company.
