5 stars This is the album I have listened the most during the COVID pandemic until today (August, 11 2020). I have rediscovered it after about 20 years and it was a great surprise. When I was young I didn't give Clutching at Straws the attention it deserves, maybe the album was shadowed by the success of Misplaced Childhood. Today, I see Clutching as the most mature, well-crafted album from Marillion's Fish era. There are no weak tracks or fillers. This is not a conceptual one-track album as Misplaced childhood, but I just can't stop it in the middle. It has the same quality from Misplace Childhood: you listen to it from the first to the final note, since the songs are connected. Fish left Marillion at the very best moment of the band. Full five stars to this masterpiece.
