4 stars LIMITED EDITION is my favorite CAN album by far. Many of most creative ideas from CAN's other work are expressed here without the baggage of trying to fit them into standard rock song format. If you enjoy CAN for their explorations into the avant-garde, then this is the album to seek out. Put another way, this album ought to appeal to anyone who's favorite FAUST album is THE FAUST TAPES, which - just like this one - was originally released for the price of a 45rpm record in the U.K. It should also be noted that the material on LIMITED EDITION is also available on the expanded collection, UNLIMITED EDITION. Much of the additional material is of lesser interest, however. Finally, to understand the meaning of "Ethnological Forgery Series", is to understand their connection with one another.
