OLD PROG
3 stars The genesis debut album is not a bad album. In fact, I really like it. But this is not the point. In some moments (like "Silent Sun" or "In The Wilderness ") there are excellent foundations to start a musical career and develop a style. In general, however, I must admit that I prefer the first albums of Nirvana (the Prog band of that period) or the albums of The Moody Blues. Unripe and naive, "From Genesis To Revelation" is a historical album. But nothing more. And in reality, although you still listen well today, it doesn't leave a mark. "From Genesis To Revelation" is not a psychedelic album. Nor is it a baroque POP album. "From Genesis To Revelation" it's just an album produced by honest traders (this seems to be here) seventeen year olds supported in an exalted way by their professor ((poor Jonathan King ... What are you making me write ...). Yet I like it. Unfortunately, the fact that an album you like is not always synonymous with quality. Unfortunately, I must admit, "From Genesis To Revelation" is an album by a band called Genesis. Who is not even related to that of "Trespass". But after all, they were too young, inexperienced and ingenuous to do better. Anyway... These are also Genesis. Like it or not.
