5 stars 1. Acoustic drum intro for those who don't know, great; the contribution of the guitars and pads, the jerky thrash rhythm, the power of Cliff on bass, the slap; well let's be clear it's hard not prog related as I read, but like that we can sit on this drum that is firing at all winds; ah the slight variation to clean your ears and it's off again in the 100% bubbling 2. Master of Puppets for one of the best progressive hard tracks there is; infamous intro, direct 320 volts; everything is at the maximum, from the drums to the guitars that continue to fire; the nauseating bass, the high-pitched voice on speed thrash metal; Master, master, yes power of the Master; scream at 3'20 and remember well this moment where Kirk's guitar comes to pose one of the most beautiful contemplative solos there is; velvety, airy, rustic, fairground, yes... and, and this unspeakable rise that still gives you chills almost 40 years later; master ah this riff, ah this bass, arghhhh..... This moment of pure happiness where you headbang, where your body no longer belongs to you, one of the most beautiful musical moments in the world quite simply; after the solo yes but well at 100% on the scale, the quality saturates and I can't say anything better, I'll let you listen to the end... quietly, but master anyway. 3. The Thing That Should Not Be with its premonitory title, don't say it; a riff, a volcano belching its lava, the hyper powerful bass, the tone given quite calm; monolithic from Stonehenge with the power of the Great Ancients, Cthulhu or another; the variation is meant to be bellowing, saturating the air, the breathtaking finale with the bass that will flirt with the speakers, right, left 4. Welcome Home (Sanitarium) guitar arpeggio coming from a hammam, the drops fall on the body tense since the beginning of listening; the throbbing spleen solo finishes bewitching the listener; there is a rise, we know that it is going to explode... the bass sets the tone, James sings louder, then hop solo again to drown it all out; on the edge of slow thrash, astounding; good prog metal before its time for this demonic electric break that cleans the cobwebs in the speakers, the fiery solo being content to grill the few cockroaches prowling around in the corner; yes thrash slides towards a unique style, METALLICA, inimitable, Dantesque to the dregs, to the tips of Lars' drumsticks

5. Disposable Heroes and the B-side at the time, oh how I wore out this cassette, in the car, in the walkman, the Mr ALLGOOD portable player! In short, a fiery entrance, the military, Spartan rhythm, the drums take out the 20mm, it explodes everywhere; the song goes everywhere, violent with the passage of the voice, the guitars, the riffs, of Lars hysterical on it hammering his drums. The song that swells in waves and which in the opinion of one of my prog friends has nothing to do with prog... Ah well how weird, I wouldn't have found it; final napalm 6. Leper Messiah for the intro, once again or how to find the sound that makes you move instinctively, how to find this unhealthy sound that you can have fun singing with childish pleasure... There it is I nod and I have a headache; the most raw track of the album that grabs you by the throat from the start 7. Orion ... 1986 as if it were yesterday; the track that confirmed to me that prog metal was going to arrive and make a lasting alliance; without these long tracks, METALLICA would have remained hard rock full stop, here it is the quintessence of proto prog metal, this almost classical suite where bass tunes and crystalline solos intertwine so easily; Cliff originally to highlight the bass, Robert of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES who takes up the torch in a masterful way; in short I speak, I write and during this time you listen in your corner because this song is also your drug; well the finale that rises, it jostles, 8mn and you haven't seen the time pass, prog metal yes 8. Damage, Inc. to close this extraordinary album with the second most violent title, what METALLICA could have remained without its progressive extravagances; I will be quick, like the title, it's good but strong; it's good but I prefer Orion.
