4 stars 1Down And Out.. what excitement! the 1st GENESIS purchased! yes the others from before cracked... finally recorded LPs on K7, good times that; it was so good that I didn't think I could buy an album of theirs... when you're young... in short, I ate this album even if it was really the beginning of the true end for them; think, only three left; yet the background sound was heavy; good, the majestic title which marks an ersatz sound but which proves that the synth and the drummer hold up well, Tony holding the group well 2 Undertow for the consensual soft melody, with its already electro pads and a languorous air; it's beautiful but; it's more spleen than anything else, like an ode to the end, to memory; musically it's very clean it must be admitted 3 Ballad Of Big with the prog intro... it seems cinematic before its time, a drum roll lets Phil arrive for his text; the chorus is well done but which brings GENESIS into the sound of the 80s two years in advance, it's clean but planned so as not to disturb anyone, too predictable yes and basta the prog break, creating a lack 4Snowbound for snowballing, without making any tracks; beautiful but predictable and without that prog blood which still flowed on the first title; 5 Burning Rope ah phew I find the sound of the two previous albums, the instrumental which tells you come on we're going to travel together; a well-crafted sympho-melodic intro that takes you back to Lewis' world, yes I see the rabbit there behind the tree; the phrasing and the piano keep you alert, the synth ah don't forget that Tony is a great musician, this synth that makes you melt; oh no, oh love, but yes, it's the ballad Charisma which doesn't care about radio criteria, here 7 minutes to play and enjoy listening; the plaintive guitar mixes with the keyboards; the louder spleen break you melt with Mike who proves that he too can play everything throws you the solo; back to the verse, it starts again... unpredictable and magnificent, prog what!!

6 Deep In The Motherlode typical, symphonic intro, I love the bass, yes on the radio at the time it was fleeting, there I feel this vibration which reassures, warms, we listen to beautiful and good sound; the melody which enters the brain quickly, the rhythm has something to do with it, the cymbals there and Tony who goes there with his 12 fingers; a title like the first on side A, all in sensitivity and ardor and an ending that is at least progressive 7 Many Too Many for the melody that could be shown on TV, with nostalgia but without great prog creation 8 Scenes From A Night's Dream for the same musical pattern with a more playful rhythm, playing on the synths to give more relief 9 Say It's Alright Joe like the penultimate track, yes it's similar, a predictable rise, the prog juice begins to dry up however the instrumental parts are still intense; 10 The Lady Lies arrives let's enjoy the 2nd at just over 6 minutes; the tune yes, the rhythm yes, the sound yes it's GENESIS, the range begins to whisper the hit, next mega hit; in the meantime what do we have, a crystal clear melody, an air that transports you with the bass forward, yes, with the warm, fat keyboards, with the synth which sets off on a solo stamped by Banks; yes it's over for the guitar solos which were the richness of the GENESIS before; yes the battery holds the pad, but; in short, the memory of these evenings listening to this K7 on repeat makes me understand a little more how people today can fall in love with basic music; cruel observation but I love this piece with its piano variation 11 Follow You Follow Me for Phil's mega-hit, for the clip filled with almost empty percussion, him singing really well, which follows the musical plot, well if Steve from MARILLION did that, it would be truly divine; well this title nothing to throw away, nothing to spit, just perfect... and my sweet teenage years taking the FM station to wash myself with this melting hit.
