5 stars PORCUPINE TREE if we had to start it would be him, of course.

1. The Sky Moves Sideways - Phase 1 has everything it takes... at the time, to carve out a vital part in the progressive universe. The sound, the instrumentation, the latency, the dreamlike universe; a psychedelic climb with an eye on the PINK FLOYD atmosphere, on the OZRIC TENTACLES but not only... better, yes better, even more ethereal, more spleen, more Cadbury; the latency, the voice, the metronomic drumming suggests breaks which occur and increase even more the effect of musical fullness; halfway through it is precisely the dreamlike climb, fresh blood at the time... yes I am repeating myself but it is important to immerse yourself again at the time of the outing; OZRIC yes and the scents of ORESOUND SPACE COLLECTIVE, APSARAS, certain titles of POPOL VUH; brief progressive trance; 4th beat and the return with an acoustic guitar with a calmer sound, feeling of returning from an astral journey further than our galaxy 2. Dislocated Day well the telephone... in the cabin rings; its most Porcupinian for those who followed them a little before; voice, riff, layered keyboards, always this high, tormented guitar sound which takes me back to his help on the FISH albums; beautiful and confusing, focused on the atmosphere of the 70s psyche 3. The Moon Touches Your Shoulder returns to the latent melancholy atmosphere, a guitar arpeggio, a crying note and Steve with his voice drowned among the notes; a title so simplistic in its conception, so intimate in its execution that it seems more beautiful; the spleen crystalline note of great beauty; the solo that comes on a Gilmourian declination, hold choirs in the distance, like the end of Olympus, everything is there to make you hover, go for a riff, a xylophone and 4. Prepare Yourself the xylophone I said then the guitar which squirts, yes by the way Steve strums well, in any case with emotion; this interlude piece... to prepare you for the divine sequel, or how to think that the prog was well hidden in it; in short, here we go, you are well settled, come on 5. Moonloop for its soaring-symphonic-melodic-reverberating intro, the tap on 'Time', time stops, the vibrations don't; an aside on the DELIRIUM label yes that's it; a point on this guitar that rips the air, between soft stoner and heavy psyche... be careful, that's not why this title pulls on the hard, we are of course a controlled improvisation that makes you gravitate between Mars and the asteroid belt and Ceres, where the sun is cold, where the heat freezes you, where the sound is absent and roars in your ears; yes you have to have stored the albums of the first TANGERINE DREAM to get used to the idea that music is above all... a musical pastime in order to forget it precisely. Well, some NASA voices reassure me that they have spotted us. 6. The Sky Moves Sideways - Phase 2 with a symphonic drum roll-rumble very well delivered for the time; a slow soaring, Floydian climb, slow but smoothly managed, simple, basic but well structured; put yourself in 1994-95 and listen, the bass to 'Welcome to the machine' interesting considering the date of publication; barely 6 minutes and Suzanne comes to enchant us with her voice, the guitar goes from hovering to stressful while the rhythmic bass-drums advance in a metronomic way; in short, captivating, astonishing for the time, I remind you; a few religious choirs in the distance, soaring I would say then the sound in reverse, you remember as if the rock brought a satanic phrasing.... ah there; good go back to bend time I agree; a final flight with a Gilmourian guitar, a final dark bass chord with boat noise, yes what PINK FLOYD will do much later on 'A momentary', when I say that Steve is a precursor!!
