Space
3 stars Fisrt of all I have to say that I can't understand the low ratings. It's a real good album. The album cover is great and charachteristic with the spacecraft and the alien. It released after a gap of 5 years from their previous album (or 7 years if you consider Spacebrock as a Brock solo album) and that is their biggest gap between studio albums. We can "divide" the album in two parts. The first half and the second half. The first half is great. The album starts with a new version of a classic (Spirit Of The Age). It works good! The second track (Out Here We Are) is a composition of Alan Davey. It's a spacey ambient song with Jazz elements in the middle of the song. The saxophone gives a special flavor too. Fantastic song! One of the best HW efforts after the 2000! The album continues with a heavy rock song (Greenback Massacre), another Davey's composition. His vocals are suitable. Good tune! To Love A Machine is a Captain's Brock song with interesting lyrics in a Blade Runner mood. One of the best pieces of the album. Atmospheric with "melancholic" vocals and a Jazzy piano ending. Next we have the self-titled song. An experimental piece, a mixture of guitars, keyboards, drum machine, samples with a techno feeling! The second half of the album is pretty decent. Some good ideas, some uninspired etc. In the album participate Arthur Brown (with 2 compositions) but unfortunately are not something memorable. Overall we have a good album of Space Rock that deserves your attention.

Highlight : Out Here We Are
