3 stars The last really good BDM album that was released and still distinctly bears traces of progressive rock, in this case, rock progressivo italiano and a handful of Jethro Tull. Giacomo is back and he is inspired as ever. The vocals are passionate and operatic as usual and the keyboard duo has a leading edge to electric guitar. The songs have more songwriter feel and are more accessible by being shorter and melody oriented. For example, "E Mi Viene Da Pensare" has an electric piano and vocals as main elements. "Interno Citta" changes the electric piano for normal piano before the full band enters on stage and the song reaches the climax towards the end with clarinet. Instrumental prowess has stepped into background.

"Circobanda" is a fine instrumental track with jazz-rock touches to finish this era of Banco del Mutuo Soccorso. Percussions add to the intensive drumming.

Overall, you can feel more commercial aspirations that would prevail in the next releases. BDMS could do a very good pop music too, but that is for a different portal ;-).
