5 stars My favorite Pendragon album. Believe marks a transition between the old sound and a new more guitar-centric, that would be proeminent for the next releases.

Gone are the endless torrents of keyboards. The music here is finally able to breath, to build up when it's needed and explore new territories. It's very guitar-centric, but it's not dark, dense or heavy as their next releases, which creates a very distinct atmosphere for Pendragon's sound.

All the songs here are amazing.

"Believe" is a great intro that sets up the mood, with some voices, keyboards on background and nice guitar solo.

"No Place for the Innocent" is a catchy uplifting rock tune that develops in interesting ways, culminating into a strange but cool guitar solo in the finale.

"The Wisdom of Solomon" begins with a strong mood followed by several different sections before reaching the first verse. It's a lot different different from what they've done before and, again, some really great solos abd arrangements.

"The Wishing Well" is a five-part song cycle that builds up into a really strong climax going through lots of territories: From the Genesis-esque classic sound to Pink Floyd atmosphere/psychodelic and Punk Rock/fast sections. Definetely a Pendragon highlight.

"Learning Curve" is my favorite Pendragon song, having a very progressive structure while being very memmorable, catchy and one of favorites final guitar solos.

"The Edge of the world" ends the album with a very melancholic song. Some classic sound inspired by Genesis and neo-prog here, but without the excesses and a very strong final act.

Believe is a somewhat divisive album, being a departure from their old sound which definetely dissapointed a lot of fans, but for me, it remains in a perfect balanced spot sonically that makes it one of my favorite albums.
