5 stars This review is for the 30th anniversary version - BUY IT.

I only wish there was video material of Kansas in this time period, there should be as they were at their peak playing arenas and had hits with Dust in the Wind, Point of Know Reture and Carry on Wayward Son.

The live performance of the material gives an edge to the studio material, which makes it a worthy addtion to one's collection

All of the 10 unreleasted extra tracks + Closet Chronicles ommited on the original cd are masterful and well recorded like the original material.

What is remarkable is there are no overdubs of such complex playing. Then again, progressive rock musicians are so talented that they can perform without mistakes.

Later Kansas studio recordings tended to go in a much more hard rock and pop vain, possibly due to management pressure to repeat hits the Carry on Wayward. Point of Know Return, Dust etc.

ESSENTIAL - Captures Kansas at their musical peak with inspired performance and inspired sound of all the tracks including the 10 unrelease ones sitting there for 30 years
