4 stars This is my favourite SM album and also one of my all-time favourite albums. This album still has the early sound of Soft Machine, but there are also hints of where they were going to on their future albums. There are actually quite a few songs but I think they should be listened as a one piece. Actually this album seems at times like a one big song with different parts. Ayers is gone and Hugh Hopper with his cool fuzz bass has arrived. This album also sounds a lot more mature than the first one. There were some "psychedelic 60´s hippie" sounds one the first album. Now the songs are much more jazzy and hmm... dadaists..if you like.

I really love this album and if you´ve only checked out their later stuff and did not like it, this is still worth getting.
